Recently an image of a racist anti-Obama bumper sticker went viral on Facebook and other social media networks. The sticker reads: "Don't Re-Nig In 2012. Stop repeat offenders. Don't re-elect Obama."
Of course we all know that this is far from the first time that racially insensitive comments made about the president have captured the nation's attention. This particular campaign has distinguished itself from other Obama attacks, by being unapologetically race-based, with no real messages about policy.
Oelania Pena reports in the Grio that the 'Re-Nig' bumper sticker originally came from stumpystickers.com, a website that manufactured plenty of anti-Obama content with racially-charged rhetoric. As of the writing of this post, the site appears to no longer be in existence.
Stumpy Stickers also once replaced the face of the president with the image of an ape accompanied by a cartoon of hooded members of the Klu Klux Klan, with the slogan "The original BOYS IN THE HOOD."
These images can still easily be accessed on Google and all over the Internet.
Julian Kimble wrote in a post for Complex: "We get that some people are still mad about '08, but never before has the President of the United States been so blatantly disrespected."
