Obama Impersonator Pulled at Republican Leadership Conference

Obama impersonator Reggie Brown raised eyebrows at the Republican Leadership Conference with jokes about Black History Month, interracial marriage and former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y).

“Had I been in the room I would have pulled him sooner,” Charlie Davis, executive director of the RLC told The Fix. “We have zero tolerance for racially insensitive jokes. As soon as I realized what was going on, I rushed backstage and had him pulled.”

Brown, for his part, said the negative reaction was overblown, although he acknowledged that he was thrilled by the attention. Here's a sampling of his material:

My favorite month is February, Black history month," the fake Obama said. "Michelle celebrates the full month, and I celebrate half." "My mother loved a black man and no she was not a Kardashian...

He went on to poke fun at House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) skin color and tossed off a Rosy O’Donnell fat joke.

Some of the biggest boos came when the fake Obama said Newt Gingrich’s campaign was barely clinging to life.
“His consultants are dropping faster than Anthony Weiner’s pants in an AOL chat room,” he said.

Of GOP frontrunner, fake Obama joked that Mormon Mitt Romney will have “a first lady, second lady, and third lady.”

In my opinion, presidential contender Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) should have gotten the biggest laugh of the night when she noted double-digit unemployment numbers among African-Americans and Hispanics, pledging to do better by minorities than the current occupant of the White House.
