President Signs Finance Reform

Official presidential portrait of Barack Obama...Image via Wikipedia
Congratulations to President Obama.  He signed into law the most ambitious overhaul of financial regulation in generations, saying he was acting to protect ordinary consumers and to "rein in the abuse and excess" on Wall Street that pushed the U.S. economy to the brink of collapse.

As always, this achievement is being overshadowed by various other sensational news stories that have much less affect on the welfare of the American people.  The thing I love about my president is that he keeps his head cool, his words calm and his action focused on the country's welfare. Despite "The Party of No", Fox News, Somalian Pirates, BP's Gulf Oil Spill, the Tea Party. Sarah Palin, the Birthers, the "Death Panels" etc. etc., he keeps the chopping away at all the country's major issues.

Hang in there, Mr. President.
